How did you find out about the University?
I found out about the University from a university advisor in Cyprus, Georgia Marta from Study Abroad. The reason I chose to study at the University of South Wales is because of the fees. The fees at the USW are far more reasonable than other Universities in the UK. The other reason is that USW’s engineering section is one of the best.

What do you think about your course?
The course that I am studying it is not easy but it is not difficult either. I think whatever course you choose it needs a lot of hours of studying. In my course, I use lots of labs, math, theory lectures and team work. As a student I enjoyed a particular lecture that I had in my first year called Engineering Applications. It was the best lecture and I miss it because we were making circuits and it was fun because the lecturer was very cheerful. The lectures can be challenging but the lecturers at the USW are pleased to help any student.

What did you think of Freshers Week/International Welcome Week?
The first week is called Induction Week and is created by the university so that Freshers can attend many events and check out the societies and clubs that are offered to the University. When I was a fresher I attended this week and it was very nice. I recommend any new students to attend this week .

What about life in the UK generally?
Studying in the UK helps you learn how to speak English, which in my opinion is very useful. Learning English can help you find a job in UK easier than someone who knows the basics. The biggest difference between Cyprus and UK is the distance between one place to another. But in UK you can use trains and other transportation which makes your life easier. If you want to study in the UK my advice is to learn how to budget and how to cook because if you do not know how to cook then you will need a lot of money to order food every day.

Do you have any advice for any potential students reading this?.
Students joining the university will surprise themselves. They will find out what their strengths and weaknesses are. Of course, it’s also important to have a good balance between rest, studying and going out. If you can balance these three thing, you are going to succeed.

What are your career goals?
I want to find a job that will give me a good salary so that I can help many people. Of course I also want to work somewhere where they help and design aids for disabled people.
