Rafael, 21, is currently studying BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance. Here is what he shared with us:
Why University of South Wales
It was really easy to choose University of South Wales. I always wanted to come to Cardiff for higher education because since the 1990s, Cardiff has seen significant development. The University of South Wales provided me with huge variety of course and I have been chosen to study (BA) Accounting and Finance.
Management of the University
Firstly, I would like to point out the excellent discipline, and the good management of the university. Additionally, I found that the University treats equally every student and it gives big opportunities for professional careers.
Relation with tutors
I am very delighted with the relation between tutors and students, tutors were very helpful. Their aim is to give more attention for the progress of the students, and not only to teach the lessons. I am absolutely satisfied with the modules that I did, they reflected what I expected and it will be helpful for my future plans.
My big concern when I had started the course was if I could correspond to the expectations of the lessons. I am from Cyprus and English language is not my first language. The university has the solutions for me, by free English lessons for foreign students. There were lessons that were hard, but at the end, I understand that I could obtain a high level education. In addition, this is a way for distinguishing the best students.
Assessments and Facilities
Moreover, from the fairness of the University I received the marks that I deserved and I believe it was the same for my classmates, this is a positive thing for the beneficial progress of all. I think that our course was very effective at all lessons because students were divided into small groups. Thus, students were less shy to ask for questions and had more chances to pay attention and learn the significant points. Besides that, I must say that I really enjoy the Sports Centre of the University with a variety of sports, especially using the football courts and gym.
In the end, I find myself really lucky that I am studying at the University of South Wales because now I can be sure and more optimistic about my future career.
