Milla Karvinen

Milla is currently in her first year of the four year Master of Chiropractic programme. She shares her some of her experiences on the course and as a student on the Treforest Campus.

Why did you choose to study at University of South Wales? There are not many chiropractic schools to choose from in Europe. I chose USW because it has real campus and great facilities, especially in sports. Also the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) is highly valued in chiropractic societies.

Has your learning experience at South Wales been positive? Yes it has. Our lecturers always make sure that everyone understands what they teach and always have time to answer questions.

Have you enjoyed your University experience at South Wales so far? Yes, I have had more fun than I thought I would and I don’t regret coming here at all.

What advice would you give to any students who are thinking of studying at USW? Don’t take heels with you! You won’t need them. Trainers are the shoes in this campus. Also take warm clothes.

What’s your number one student experience so far? The fact that I passed all of my exams and the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) of the first term

Favourite places to visit or things to do in Wales? I love going to Cardiff just to go shopping or walking to Cardiff Bay and have a dinner or lunch there with friends.
