How did you hear about USW?
I heard about the university at a student fair in my home city, Trondheim, back in 2008.

Why did you choose to study at USW?

I originally chose to study at USW (Uni of Glamorgan, back then) because my boyfriend at the time wanted to study sound technology, and I decided to go with him. It was the best decision I’ve made, because although our relationship ended during our time there, it was still the best three years of my life.

What was the highlight of your time at USW?

It’s hard to pick out just one thing that was the highlight of my time at uni, because there were many. Every time I got a first, all the friends for life I made, and all the fun I had over the three years in Cardiff.

What did you think of life in Wales generally?

I absolutely loved my time in Wales, I fell in love with both the beautiful country and its people.

What did you think of the course/lecturers/facilities?
My course was very theoretical, but I learned a lot and improved my academic writing a lot by doing a lot of written course work. My lecturers were generally very good, and I enjoyed most of them. The facilities were amazing, I studied at the Atrium, a fairly newly build campus, so everything was very much up to date.

Where did you live? Did you like living there?
I lived in Ty Pont (now Liberty Bridge) in my first year, then in private housing in two different houses on Richmond road the last two years. All the places I lived were very good.

How has your experience at USW benefitted you since graduating?
I’ve become much more independent, and started to believe in myself more. My dissertation supervisor pushed me a lot my final year and because of that I think I graduated a much stronger and tougher person than I was when I started my university journey.

Would you recommend USW to other students?
I would definitely recommend USW to other students. Although I can’t speak for the other courses, I can say student life in general at USW is very good!
