BA (Hons) International Accounting
Understanding the key concepts of accounting helps one to get the full picture of running a business and the ongoing background scenes behind a operational firm. Adding to that, International Accounting covers key aspects of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), which is worldwide applicable and implemented in many countries. These skills and knowledge gained will aid one to be competent in the international business scene.
Why the University of South Wales?
I chose the University of South Wales because graduating from this university will provide me with an honours degree, a key stepping stone for me if I want to pursue my masters studies at a later stage. I also did my research and found out that University of Glamorgan (presently known as University of South Wales) has been doing very well and climbing the university rankings steadily. It was crucial for me to graduate from a school that had a good reputation.
What has been the most exciting part of the course so far?
I enjoyed the modules of Cases in Auditing and Forensic Accounting as they were key modules that covered fraud and investigative accounting. These are very intriguing accounting modules that cover the creative aspect of accounting and it is very beneficial for one to gain exposure in such areas.
During my stint at the campus, I found the condition and the location of the campus gym very satisfactory. The area around Treforest is also very hilly, a challenge that me and my fellow jogging partner love to undertake regularly during the week.
Tell us about the lecturers
The lecturers are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and engaging. These are the key elements that helped fuel my passion for accounting and contribute immensely into making my whole experience enjoyable.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
I will be starting work officially in late 2013 and am eager to gain useful work experience in the business scene.
Any advice to those who are interested in this course?
As aforementioned, accounting skills are very useful in understanding the operation ability of a company. Graduating with International Accounting will echo keywords like flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness, ultimately supplying the individual with a sustainable competitive advantage for the future work place.
