USW was delighted to take part in a reception this week celebrating the contribution that international students make to Wales. The event, organised by Universities Wales in partnership with BUILA (British Universities International Liaison Association) and hosted by the British Council, was attended by all of the Welsh universities as well as CBI Wales (Confederation of British Industry), Welsh Government and other stakeholders.
Daphne Chook, originally from Malaysia, spoke at event and shared her experience of setting up a company in Wales after completing her degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, part of the University of South Wales Group. Daphne was sponsored by USW for a Graduate Entrepreneur visa after completing her degree. She now runs a successful music teaching company in Cardiff with her German husband, Emmanuel, who she met on her course.
