On Thursday 30th November, The Welsh Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce (WBBC) held its annual Gala dinner at the Celtic Manor Resort and the University of South Wales was proud to be one of the events co-sponsors.
The theme of this year’s Gala dinner was a Women Empowerment and Women in Business and the reception was attended by senior figures from the High Commissioner of Bangladesh as well as members local MPs and representatives of the Welsh Government. Dr. Lisa Davies, International Recruitment Manager was invited to deliver a speech on behalf of the University at this special evening. USW’S Bangladesh Regional Manager, Mr. Rezaul Karim was also able to attend and travelled from Bangladesh especially for the event.
“Bangladesh has strong community links which is something we at the university truly believe in, so partnerships, like our one with the Wales Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce, are invaluable.”
The University was represented by Dr. Lisa Davies, Dr. Lucy Meredith, Dr.Kathryn Franklin, Prof. Bela Arora, Mrs. Alexandra Dobson Miss Farzana Rahman Mr. Rezaul Karim, Mr. David Joyce and special guest Mr. Paul Griffiths, Vice President of the Police Superintendents Associations.
The University was also represented by USW Alumni and several of our current students from the Faculty of Creative Industries who were hired to provide Media Coverage and live filming of the event.
