Computer Animation course got me dream job!

Suvi Jokiniemi, from Finland, graduated with first-class honours. She works as a Character Animator at Jellyfish Pictures, a BAFTA winning visual effects studio in London.

“I enjoyed the variety of projects we were set during the degree, and the collaborative work with my course mates,” said Suvi.

“The course was a great introduction to how the animation industry works, and the role of an animator.”

Suvi’s highlights from her time at university include the Glammies, an end of year award show hosted by USW that celebrates Creative Industries students’ hard work and showcases the best of Animation and Film work produced throughout the year.

She also enjoyed a trip to FMX Festival in Stuttgart, Germany earlier this year, which gave Computer Animation students the opportunity to network with people from around the world, take part in inspiring masterclasses and see the latest developments in the animation industry.

“My advice to students would be to work hard, schedule your workload and do as much as you can today, leaving as little as possible for tomorrow so that you can enjoy yourselves too!”
