Welcome to the University of South Wales! As one of the largest universities in the UK we are proud of our internationally diverse student body. We have been welcoming students from Taiwan to the University for many years and have developed excellent support services for you, including:

Scholarships

  • Chancellor’s International Development Scholarship of £2,500 for undergraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £2,000 for postgraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for MBA students

Entry Requirements

Foundation Entry Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential for study in the UK. The University of South Wales considers a number of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) supported by the UKVI for entry to the UK, including the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.

Academic Qualifications

Senior High School Graduates will be required to do a foundation year before progressing to their Bachelor degree. For Students with a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) subject foundation years will be suitable. For those with a slightly lower level of English (IELTS 5.0 or equivalent) the International Foundation Programme will be recommended.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales considers a number of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) supported by the UKVI for entry to the UK, including the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)

Academic Qualifications

Junior College Diploma Holders will be considered for direct admission to the first year of an undergraduate degree programme. Stronger candidates may be considered for direct entry to the second year.

Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma or ‘A’ levels obtained in Taiwan will be considered for direct admission to first degree programmes. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a foundation year.

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales considers a number of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) supported by the UKBA for entry to the UK, including the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 5.5 in each band)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.

Academic Qualifications

Holders of a good Honours Bachelor Degree will be considered for postgraduate Masters degree courses.

Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
