The University of South Wales is a popular choice amongst Syrian students and has been welcoming students from Syria to its five campuses for many years.

Popular courses amongst Syrian students are the MBA (including associated pathway options) and Masters degrees in engineering and education.

Students from Syria have appreciated the scholarships offered by the University and have enjoyed the high standard of living but relatively low cost of living that South Wales offers. Fees and Scholarships

Scholarships

Students from Syria are eligible to receive our International Academic Scholarships which are available across all levels of study.

  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for undergraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £2,000 for postgraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for MBA students

Entry Requirements

Foundation Entry Requirements

  • Students who have a 60% pass in their Al Shahada Al Thaniwiya/Baccalaureat certificate (Certificate of General Secondary Education) can apply for the International Foundation Programme; you must also have an IELTS score of 5.0
  • Students who have a 60% pass in their Al Shahada Al Thaniwiya/Baccalaureat certificate (Certificate of General Secondary Education) can apply for a Foundation Year Programme; you must also have an IELTS score of 6.0

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

To undertake a course of undergraduate study, you will need a good command of English and be able to prove you have at least the equivalent of:

  • IELTS 6.0 overall (with at least 5.5 in each component)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.

Academic Qualifications

  • Students who have successfully completed a 2 year Diploma from a recognised institution can be considered for entry onto the first year of an undergraduate degree programme.

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

To undertake a course of postgraduate study, you will need a good command of English and be able to prove you have at least the equivalent of:

  • IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 5.5 in each component)

Academic Qualifications

  • Students who have completed a Bachelor degree (minimum classification of Jayyid) can be considered for entry onto a relevant postgraduate programme of study.
