The University of South Wales is a popular choice amongst Singaporean students and has been welcoming students from Singapore to its three campuses for many years.

Popular courses amongst Singaporean students are the BA (Hons) Business with Human Resource Management top-up and the MBA (including associated pathway options).

Students from Singapore have appreciated the scholarships offered by the University and have enjoyed the high standard of living but relatively low cost of living that South Wales offers. Fees and Scholarships

Scholarships

Students from Singapore are eligible to receive our International Academic Scholarships which are available across all levels of study.

  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for undergraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £2,000 for postgraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for MBA students

You will automatically be considered for a scholarship when you make your application and you do not need to make a separate application. You will receive confirmation of any scholarship awarded with your offer letter.

Entry Requirements

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

English qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. Where a student has completed English Language as part of their Singapore/Cambridge GCE O Level studies, a minimum of Grade C is required. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.


Academic Qualifications

  • Holders of the Singapore/Cambridge GCE A Level will be considered against the standard UCAS tariff for each individual course for direct admission to first degree programmes.
  • Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points or ‘A’ levels obtained in China will be considered for direct admission to first degree programmes. Please refer to www.southwales.ac.uk/courses for detailed entry requirements. Students who do not meet the entry requirement will be considered for a Foundation year.
  • Holders of Polytechnic Advanced Diplomas/Higher National Diplomas will be considered for advanced entry into Bachelors degree programmes on an individual basis.
  • Holders of Advanced Diplomas/Higher National Diplomas in a business-related subject will be considered for our BA (Hons) Management and Business, a one year top-up course.

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

  • Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
