The University of South Wales is a popular choice amongst Filipino students and has been welcoming students from the Philippines to its three campuses for many years.

Popular courses amongst Filipino students are MSc Professional Practice with Work Placement, MSc Renewable Energy and Resource Management and BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance

Fees and Scholarships

Scholarships

Students from the Philippines are eligible to receive our International Academic Scholarships which are available across all levels of study.

  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for undergraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £2,000 for postgraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for MBA students

You will automatically be considered for a scholarship when you make your application and you do not need to make a separate application. You will receive confirmation of any scholarship awarded with your offer letter.

Entry Requirements

Foundation Entry Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential for Foundation study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:

For International Foundation Programme – Intensive English

  • IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum 4.5 in each band)

For International Foundation Programme – General

  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)

Academic Requirements

International Foundation Programme (Intensive English) is available for those who have passed the Grade 12 High School Diploma with an average of at least 80% plus IELTS 5.0 overall with a minimum of 4.5 in the Writing component.

International Foundation Programme is available for those who have passed the Grade 12 High School Diploma with an average of at least 80% plus IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)
Academic requirements
  • Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels will be considered for admission to undergraduate degree courses.
  • Applicants who have completed a relevant International Foundation Programme will be considered for undergraduate degree courses.

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.


Postgraduate Entry Requirements

English qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)

Academic Requirements

  • Applicants with an undergraduate (Bachelor) degree that is equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class degree (also known as a 2:1) will be considered for postgraduate programmes.
  • Applicants with a GPA 2.2 out of 4 or a 60% average will be considered for a Postgraduate programme.
  • Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies.
