The University of South Wales is a popular choice amongst Kenyan students and we have been welcoming students from Kenya to our campuses for many years.

Popular courses amongst Kenyan students are our International Foundation Programmes and Foundation years and undergradaute and postgraduate courses in business, management and accounting, IT and computing and engineering.

Self-financing students from Kenya studying at undergraduate level are also able to take advantage of our guaranteed Chancellor’s International Development Scholarships of £2,500 per year!
Students from Kenya appreciate the scholarships offered by the University and have enjoyed the high standard of living but relatively low cost of living that South Wales offers. Entry Requirements

Foundation Entry Requirements

Foundation Year Programme entry for students who have 5 Grade C-‘s or above at KCSE and IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you have an IELTS score of 5.0, you can be considered for the International Foundation Programme Intensive English.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:

KCSE with grade C or above
GCSE/O-Level English grade C or above
IELTS 6.0 or above (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)

Academic Qualifications

Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for degree level entry- the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
Applicants who have followed the IB Diploma curriculum can be considered for degree level entry- the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
Applicants who have completed the Brookhouse Foundation with overall average of 50% + can be considered for entry to a relevant undergraduate programme
Applicants who hold a 3-year Polytechnic Diploma/ABE/EdExcel HND will be considered on case by case basis for 2nd, 3rd or IPG programmes

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:

IELTS 6.5 or above (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)

Academic Qualifications

Applicants with the equivalent to a Second Class Lower degree will be considered for Masters programme entry
Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for masters programme entry
