The University of South Wales is a popular choice amongst Bahraini students and has been welcoming students from Bahrain to its five campuses for many years.

Popular courses amongst Bahraini students are the MBA (including associated pathway options) and Bachelots and Masters degrees in engineering and computing.

Scholarships

Tuition Fees for International Students 2014 – 2015

International Foundation Programme: £6,950
Undergraduate Degrees: £11,300 per year
MA/ MSc Degrees: £12,000
MBA: £12,300
Research Degrees: £12,400 per year

  • Scholarships for International Students 2014 – 2015*

Partial tuition scholarships of up to £2,000 per year are available on selected courses.

  • For undergraduate courses, up to £1,500 per year
  • For MA/MSc courses, up to £2,000
  • For MBA courses, up to £1,500

You will automatically be considered for a scholarship when you make your application and you do not need to make a separate application. You will receive confirmation of any scholarship awarded with your offer letter.

Entry Requirements

Foundation Entry Requirements

  • Students who have a 60% pass in their Tawjahiya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) can apply for the International Foundation Programme; you must also have an IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent
  • Students who have a 60% pass in their Tawjahiya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) can apply for a Foundation Year Programme; you must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 or above

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

To undertake a course of undergraduate study, you will need a good command of English and be able to prove you have at least the equivalent of:

  • IELTS 6.0 overall (with at least 5.5 in each component)
  • TOEFL IBT 79 (Listening 17, Speaking 20, Reading 18, Writing 17)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.


Academic Qualifications

  • Students who have a 2 year Diploma from a recognised institution can be accepted onto the first year of a degree programme

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

English Qualifications

To undertake a course of postgraduate study, you will need a good command of English and be able to prove you have at least the equivalent of:

  • IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 5.5 in each component)
  • TOEFL IBT 86 (Listening 17, Speaking, 20, Reading 18, Writing 17)

Some programmes of study may have higher requirements. Please see the individual course pages for further information.

Academic Qualifications

Postgraduate entry will be considered for those students who have one of the following:

  • 4 year degree with a 2nd class and above (50% or a GPA of 2 or above on the scale of 4, 4 being the highest)
  • For admission on to an LLM, you will need a 4 year LLB degree with a 2nd class or above
  • 3 year Honours degree with a 1st Class or 2nd Class can get direct entry onto a Masters course if they have additional work experience
